The word "tradition" comes up when discussing Wicca. Its simple really, a tradition is the same as a Christian denomination.
Traditions have the same basic beliefs, but it is the individual details that separate them.
There are different types and styles of Wiccan traditions, some may be what you are seeking, and others not. Wicca is but a small part of the Pagan community, there are a number of different spiritual traditions that fall under the umbrella of Wicca.
You will see the word ‘Coven’ whilst reading this post there is nothing secret or mysterious about this word, but there are many things it is not…
It is not a Club
It is not a substitute for family
It is not a church
It is not a conventional schoolWhilst a coven may seem to have some elements of the above mentioned groups, it is a mistake to expect a coven to duplicate or be a substitute for any or all of them.
Ideally, a coven is a group of like-minded people who come together with the understanding that there is strength in numbers and any organization is only as strong as its weakest link.
So what a coven is, most of all, is a “group mind”. A coven is a group of people who have worked hard to achieve rapport so that the focus and flow of every ritual comes naturally to the entire group.
New Age Religions embrace many paths to the Goddess, and it is important that each individual finds his/her own way. So, while there is discussion between the diverse ways of Wicca, there is certainly no reason for us to be subject to religious persecution. Blessed Be.
